PRIORITY OCCUPATIONS

Process Industries include: oil, gas, mining, timber, seafood processing, food processing and more. These industries are active in Alaska and require a skilled and trained workforce! Since 2006 committee members have been working on a list of occupations which these industries need to maintain the economic growth of Alaska.

What has been determined is that Alaska needs to train Alaskans to fill the upcoming gaps in employment! The Priority Occupations report is a working document used by process industries to see where serious gaps in employment education and hiring may occur. This document may also help educators inform students about Alaska's need for workers in the coming decades.

Please check the website for updates. This is a working document and will be modified by the Needs Committee as directed by industry.
