What are the Process Industries?
The process industries include oil and gas production, refining, mining, power generation and utilities, water and waste water treatment, manufactured forest products and large scale food processing. In other parts of the country there are also facilities such as complex food processing, chemical plants, and pharmaceutical plants.
What is a Process Technician?
A process technician plans, analyses and controls the production of products from raw materials, through the production and distribution of products to customers in a variety of process industries.
What is an Instrumentation Technician?
Instrumentation Technicians test, certify, repair, inspect, and maintain complex instrumentations that measure and record changes in industrial environments.
Where can I go to learn to become a Process Technician?
There are programs throughout the state, including University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), Kenai Peninsula College (KPC), and University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF).
